Evidence of GENOCIDE in Gaza: A call for justice

Acts of genocide

According to the Genocide Convention, genocide is defined as five specific acts committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group. The report identifies the following acts as having been committed in Gaza:

• Killing members of the group, where people were struck inside homes or shelters, often without warning.
• Causing serious bodily or mental harm, including amputations, crushed bones and extensive burns.
• Deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about physical destruction, including mass displacement, starvation and destruction of infrastructure.
• Measures intended to prevent births within the group, harming pregnant women and infants, leading to increased miscarriages, stillbirths and maternal and neonatal deaths.

The paper echoes conclusions by other leading human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. In December 2024, Amnesty International became the first to conclude that Israel had committed genocide during its war on Gaza, while Human Rights Watch found that genocidal acts had been committed.

Francesca Albanese, the UN’s special rapporteur on Palestine, has authored reports suggesting that genocide is taking place in Gaza. Additionally, two major Israeli rights groups, B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel, have accused the Netanyahu government of genocidal acts and incitement.

The PCHR’s report is a stark reminder of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for international intervention.
